# Logging Check Rides, Territory Trips, and Refresher Training

Open a DSLE record by clicking their name in the DSLE roster. Three action buttons appear in the detail panel.

## Log Check Ride

A check ride is an annual operational monitoring observation required per 49 CFR §240.303.

1. Click **Log Check Ride**
2. Select the engineer who was observed
3. Enter the date, territory, pass/fail result, and any notes
4. Click **Save**

The check ride appears in the DSLE's check ride history.

## Log Territory Trip

A territory qualification trip is required at least once per year per 49 CFR §240.105.

1. Click **Log Territory Trip**
2. Confirm the date (defaults to today)
3. Click **Save**

The Territory Trip Due date in the roster updates automatically to one year from the logged date.

## Log Refresher Training

Refresher training is required every 3 years per 49 CFR §240.105.

1. Click **Log Refresher Training**
2. Confirm the date (defaults to today)
3. Click **Save**

The Refresher Due date in the roster updates automatically to 3 years from the logged date.
