# Equipment Defect Tracking

Railnology's defect tracker lets your crew log equipment defects in the field and tracks their resolution status.

### Logging a Defect

1. Navigate to **RegIntel** in the left sidebar.
2. Select **Defect Tracker**.
3. Click **New Defect**.
4. Complete the defect form — equipment identifier, defect description, severity, and date observed.
5. Save the record.

Defects are tracked with a status through their lifecycle: open, in progress, and resolved.

### Inspection Forms

Inspection records are logged from **RegIntel → Inspections**. Completed inspection forms are stored with timestamp and inspector identity for audit purposes.
