# Understanding CrewIntel

CrewIntel is Railnology's crew management module. Access it from the left navigation under **Operations → CrewIntel**.

### Crew Management Dashboard

The main view shows your full crew roster with real-time status and readiness information.

**Summary cards at the top:**

| Card                | What It Shows                                            |
| ------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| Available           | Crew members ready for assignment                        |
| On Duty             | Crew members currently working                           |
| Needs Attention     | Crew members with credential or HoS issues               |
| Avg Readiness       | Average readiness score across the roster                |
| Certs Expiring Soon | Crew members with certifications expiring within 90 days |

### Crew Cards

Each crew member appears as a card showing:

* Name and employee ID
* Position (Engineer, Conductor, Brakeman, Hostler, etc.)
* HoS status (Available, On Duty, Rest Required, etc.)
* Remaining HoS time
* Readiness score

Click a crew card to expand it and view full profile details, credentials, HoS history, and certification status.

### Board View

Toggle to Board View to see crew organized by status in a Kanban-style layout. Board View is useful for dispatchers managing shift coverage at a glance.

### Adding Crew Members

Click **+ Add Crew Member** to create a new crew profile. Required fields include first name, last name, email, and position. Credentials and HoS status can be added immediately or updated later.

### Importing Crew via CSV

Click **Import Roster** to bulk-import crew members from a CSV file. Download the template from the import modal to ensure your CSV matches the required format. See Article 6.4 — Bulk Importing Crew Members for full instructions.

### Filtering by Position

Use the position dropdown to filter the roster to a specific crew type — for example, view only Engineers or only Conductors.
