# What Is Railnology?

### The Core Components

**Raillie** is Railnology's AI compliance assistant. Powered by a regulatory knowledge base covering FRA, Transport Canada, and ARTF rules, Raillie answers compliance questions, explains regulations, and helps your team make confident operational decisions. Raillie draws from both Railnology's global regulatory library and your organization's own uploaded documents.

**RailOS** is the operations suite — the platform layer that houses Hours of Service tracking, crew management, compliance records, trip assignments, and the tools your team uses day to day.

### Who Railnology Is For

Railnology serves three types of users:

* **Independent rail professionals** — engineers, conductors, and other certified crew members who use Railnology for personal credential management and regulatory reference
* **Compliance and operations teams** — dispatchers, train masters, safety officers, and compliance managers at short line railroads
* **Organization administrators** — the Admins who manage team access, configure the platform, and oversee compliance for the railroad as a whole

### Jurisdictions Supported

Railnology supports three regulatory jurisdictions:

* **FRA** — Federal Railroad Administration (United States)
* **Transport Canada (TC)** — Canadian regulatory framework
* **ARTF** — Agencia Reguladora del Transporte Ferroviario (Mexico)

Your organization's jurisdiction setting determines which regulatory rules apply to Hours of Service tracking and which library Raillie draws from when answering compliance questions.
