# FRA Form 6180.3 — Excess Service Reporting

When a crew member exceeds the applicable Hours of Service limit, the event may be reportable to the FRA under 49 CFR §228.19. Railnology generates FRA Form 6180.3 to support this reporting requirement.

### When Reporting Is Required

Under 49 CFR §228.19, railroads must report to the FRA when an employee has been required or allowed to remain or go on duty in excess of the applicable hours. Reports must be filed within 30 days of the excess service event.

### Generating Form 6180.3

1. Navigate to **Org Admin** in the left sidebar.
2. Click the **FRA Records** tab.
3. Click **HOS Records (6180.3)**.
4. Locate the excess service event and complete the form fields.
5. Export the completed form.

### Export Certifications

From the FRA Records tab, click **Export Certifications** to download your organization's engineer and conductor certification records in a format suitable for FRA inspection or audit submission.
