# Configuring Jurisdiction and Settings

The **Org Settings** tab is where you manage your organization's configuration, subscription, and knowledge base behavior.

### Accessing Org Settings

1. Navigate to **Org Admin** in the left sidebar.
2. Click the **Org Settings** tab.

### Organization Settings

The **Organization Settings** section shows your current subscription plan, display name, financing plan, and power-up status. Click **Open Checklist** to view your organization's onboarding or configuration checklist.

### Setting Your Regulatory Compliance Type

The **Regulatory Compliance Type** selector determines which regulatory framework Railnology applies to Hours of Service tracking, Raillie's compliance guidance, and alert thresholds.

1. Locate the **Regulatory Compliance Type** dropdown.
2. Select the applicable framework:
   * **Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)** — United States, 49 CFR
   * **Transport Canada (TC)** — Canadian regulatory framework
   * **ARTF** — Agencia Reguladora del Transporte Ferroviario (Mexico)
3. Save your settings.

### Knowledge Base Configuration

Knowledge Base configuration is managed from the **Documents** sub-tab of the **Knowledge Base** tab. Click **Configure** on any row to expand its settings.

**DataSource Directory** — configure a file directory path for automatic document ingestion. Check **Enable automatic processing of files in this directory** to have Railnology monitor the directory and ingest new files automatically.

**Manual Access Control** — set the access mode for your knowledge base manuals. Choose **All Manuals** to make all content accessible to all members, or **Restricted** to limit access to specific manuals per member.

**Raillie AI Configuration** — control how Raillie responds to queries against your Private Knowledge Base:

* **Response Mode:** Choose **Literal Mode** for direct answers drawn strictly from your documents, or **Reasoning Mode** for AI-reasoned responses with citations.
* **Response Style:** Set the tone of Raillie's responses — Professional, Technical, or Conversational.
* **Always require citations in responses** — when checked, Raillie always attributes answers to specific source documents.

**Repository Name** — set a custom display name for your organization's knowledge base as it appears in Raillie.

**Dedicated Database** — confirms your organization's dedicated database name and subscription status. Informational only.

**Knowledge Base Access** — confirms whether your Private Knowledge Base is currently enabled.

### Upgrading Your Plan

The **Upgrade Your Plan** section shows available tier options — Enterprise and Holding Company — with monthly and annual pricing.

> **Note:** Changing your Regulatory Compliance Type affects all future HoS calculations and Raillie responses. Historical records are not recalculated.

> **Important:** ARTF cumulative Hours of Service limits are pending final confirmation from the regulatory authority. Until confirmed, Railnology displays an amber warning on HoS records for ARTF organizations.
