# Adding and Managing FRA Credentials

Your Railnology credential vault stores your FRA engineer and conductor certifications under 49 CFR Parts 240 and 242. Keeping your credentials current ensures your certification status is accurate in your organization's FRA Records and that Railnology can alert you before expiry.

### Accessing Your Credentials

Click your profile avatar in the top right corner and select the **Credentials** tab (also labeled **Vault** in some views).

### Adding a Credential

1. On the Credentials tab, click **Add Credential**.
2. Select the credential type:
   * **Locomotive Engineer Certification** (49 CFR Part 240)
   * **Conductor Certification** (49 CFR Part 242)
3. Enter the certification details — issuing railroad, certification date, and expiry date.
4. Save the credential.

### Credential Expiry Alerts

Railnology sends an expiry reminder 30 days before any credential expires. You can manage this notification from **Account → Settings → Notification Preferences**.

### Exporting Your Credentials

From the Credentials tab, click **Export** to download your credential records. This export is useful for providing certification documentation to a new employer or for personal recordkeeping.
